Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Wednesday announced an immediate reduction in fares from Islamabad to China, reporter 24NewsHD TV Channel.

Fares for flights to China have been reduced by 10% while a 22% discount for students is announced by the national airline.

According to details, PIA increased student discounts from 10% to 15% and added an additional 7% surcharge discount, for a total discount of around 22% on flights between Pakistan and China.

Students will now be able to carry 80 kg of luggage allowance instead of 40 kg. The reduction in fares will be effective immediately on flights departing from Pakistan to China.

It is pertinent that PIA has resumed its passenger flights between Pakistan and China after nearly six months as the airports in Xian and Beijing were closed for international flights in the wake of COVID-19 precautionary measures.

According to a spokesperson of PIA, at present, PIA is operating two weekly flights on the Islamabad-Chengdu-Islamabad and Islamabad-Xian-Beijing-Islamabad routes. Students who are returning to China or intend to return to their home country after finishing their education can take advantage of the discount.

A number of Pakistani students enrolled in Chinese universities and stranded in Pakistan following COVID-19 travel restrictions have started arriving in China to join offline classes.
