Balochistan Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Wednesday claimed to have killed a key commander of Balochistan Daesh namely Ghulam Din Shahwani during an operation in Mastung district, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to a Balochistan CTD spokesperson, Balochistan CTD neutralized one of the key figures in the Balochistan Daesh network. Ghulam Din Shahwani was pronounced dead in the aftermath of an intense exchange of gunfire.
The operation took place in Mastung, a region that had recently seen a surge in terrorist activities. Ghulam Din Shahwani had allegedly been orchestrating a series of fatal attacks, including a particularly heinous assault on a JHOI (Justice, Human Rights, and Legal Aid Organization) leader.
The spokesperson further revealed that Shahwani had been actively planning and coordinating attacks within Mastung.
As CTD personnel attempted to apprehend him, Shahwani retaliated by opening fire on the security forces, leading to an intense firefight. In the ensuing exchange, the alleged terrorist met his fate as the CTD forces responded with deadly accuracy.
Ghulam Din Shahwani's record of violence and terror extended beyond this recent clash. He was previously implicated in a horrific attack on lawyers in 2016, adding to the list of atrocities attributed to his name.
