The Prime Minister’s Office has become an obstacle in the way of the orders of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as the four Capital Development Authority (CDA) board members continue holding their positions despite the ECP’s orders to remove them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

The Ministry of Interior Affairs issued orders to remove the four CDA board members, but they are still in the office.

These board members are close relatives of the officers of the Prime Minister’s Office and the cabinet members, informed sources said.

[Therefore] the Prime Minister’s Office has not issued orders to remove them, they added.

Member Finance, Planning, Technology and Admin insist on staying in the CDA using their connections.

No new appointment has been made yet after the retirement of Member Engineering.

The process of appointing Member State has been started, the CDA sources said.

It has been decided to appoint Tariq Salamat of Pakistan Administrative Group as Member State, they added.

Tariq Salamat, a grade 19 officer, is currently posted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), they stated.
