Senior journalist and analyst Gharidah Farooqi has announced to take legal action against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur for levelling serious allegations against her, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The journalist has said that the KP chief minister addressed her by her name at a rally held in Sangjani, Islamabad and hurled accusations at her. “Now he will have to give evidence to show his claims are genuine.”
Gharidah has said she will send legal notice to Gandapur following consultations with her lawyers.
She has opined that the chief minister, through his tirades and hate speeches, is making the life of female journalists in Pakistan difficult. “Female journalists already face lots of difficulties during the discharge of their duties,” she has said.
Gandapur, while addressing a rally on September 8, had described journalists, particularly female journalists, as ‘sell-outs’ who did not report facts because they were paid.
