Punjab CM seeks comprehensive plan for export of pink salt

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has sought a comprehensive plan for export of pink salt. Chairing a meeting in Lahore on Saturday, she directed the concerned departments to take measures for putting a ban on export of raw pink salt which is like a treasure for the country.
The Chief Minister also directed to ensure safety of mine workers. The meeting discussed the proposal of using modern technology to explore and extract natural resources. The meeting also discussed setting up a value added industry for pink salt.
The meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, reviewed proposals to get revenue from pink salt were reviewed. Proposals for the use of modern technology for the acquisition of minerals in Punjab were also considered in the meeting. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that “we will not let the country’s precious reserves be sold at a low price and for Pakistan, pink salt is like treasure”.
Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Zahid Bukhari, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Principal Secretary Sajid Zafar Dal, Secretary Minerals Babar Aman Babar participated in the meeting.
