A Pakistan Army training aircraft crashed near Ratta Tibba in the Luddan Mandi area of Vehari District due to a technical malfunction, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to the report, both pilots on board the aircraft successfully ejected using parachutes and escaped unhurt.
As soon as the incident was reported, local administration officials rushed to the crash site and immediately cordoned off the area to begin rescue and recovery operations.
The cause of the crash has not yet been officially determined, but authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the reason behind the technical failure.
Luddan, located on the banks of the River Sutlej, is a prominent town in the Vehari District of Punjab, approximately 27 km from the city of Vehari and 24 km from Hasilpur.
Known for its rich agricultural productivity, major crops in the region include cotton, maize, rice, tobacco, and sugarcane.
The town is also notable for being the birthplace of Mumtaz Daultana, former Chief Minister of Punjab (1951–1953), and for its active role in the Pakistan Movement through the influential Daultana family.
