Pakistan and South Korea will work together to host an important United Nations peacekeeping meeting in Islamabad, reported 24 NewsHD TV channel.

The meeting will take place on April 15 and 16, 2025, at the Centre for International Peace and Stability (CIPS) at NUST University, the Foreign Office said.

This two-day event will help prepare for the main UN Peacekeeping Ministerial meeting that will happen in Berlin, Germany, in May 2025.

The meeting in Islamabad is called “Towards a Safer and More Effective Peacekeeping: Use of Technology and Integrated Approach.” Many important people will attend, including top Pakistani leaders and senior United Nations officials.

They will talk about how to use technology to help peacekeepers stay safe and do their jobs better. They will also discuss how different countries and regions can work more closely with the UN in peace missions.

Pakistan has sent about 235,000 peacekeepers to 48 UN missions, and 181 Pakistani peacekeepers have died while serving to bring peace to the world.

By hosting this meeting, Pakistan wants to show it is a strong supporter of world peace and a top contributor to UN peacekeeping efforts.

This meeting will help set the plan for the bigger meeting in Berlin, where world leaders will decide how to improve peacekeeping missions in the future.

The Foreign Office said that this event is a good chance to show Pakistan’s strong support for UN peacekeeping and its dedication to world peace
