Two passengers were killed and twenty received serious injuries when a passenger bus was overturned near Haripur, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel on Tuesday.
Police sources said that the incident occurred as the driver of the ill-fated passenger bus went into deep sleep.
The bus was heading towards Rawalpindi from Gilgit.
Some foreign nationals were also among the critically injured persons. Soon after the incident, police and Rescue 1122 reached the site and shifted all the injured persons to the trauma centre.
Further investigation was underway.
Earlier in March 2025, three passengers were killed and five others injured when a passenger bus overturned after hitting a roadside on the Hattar Road.
The Hattar police said the Taxila-bound bus overturned near the village of Hattar; one passenger was killed on the spot, while seven others received injuries.
Two of the injured died at the Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad, Hattar police said. Those killed were identified as Mohammad Saleem, son of Mohammad Aslam; Syed Mukhtiar Shah, son of Syed Muqadar Shah; and Mir Afzal, son of Mohammad Muzaffar.
