Three personnel of the Balochistan Constabulary were martyred while 19 others sustained injuries in a bomb blast near Shamsabad in Mastung district, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Tuesday.
According to details, a powerful explosion targeted a police vehicle on Dasht Road in the Shamsabad area, close to Mastung.
The explosion was caused by a remote-controlled bomb planted in a motorcycle parked by the roadside.
The police convoy belonging to the Balochistan Constabulary was on routine patrol duty when it came under attack.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals. The dead bodies have also been shifted to the hospital.
Authorities have declared an emergency in Mastung hospitals to treat the wounded. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
CM Balochistan says no leniency for terrorists
In the aftermath of the deadly bomb blast in Mastung, an emergency has been declared in both Bolan Medical College Hospital and Civil Hospital Quetta.
According to the spokesperson for the Balochistan government, the injured are being shifted to Quetta for advanced treatment.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has directed authorities to ensure the provision of the best possible medical aid to the injured.
He has instructed Health Minister Bakhit Kakar to personally oversee the treatment process and warned that any negligence in medical care will not be tolerated.
CM Bugti strongly condemned the terrorist attack and expressed solidarity with the families of the martyred security personnel.
He stated that the elements behind this heinous act deserve no leniency and will be brought to justice.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemns blast
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the bomb blast near a Balochistan Constabulary vehicle on Dast Road in Mastung that claimed the lives of three personnel and injured several others.
In his statement, Naqvi paid tribute to the martyred officials and expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families.
He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and reiterated that the martyrs are a source of national pride, stating, “They will always live in our hearts.”
Minister Naqvi assured the families of the fallen personnel that the nation stands shoulder to shoulder with them and emphasised that the sacrifices of the martyrs will never be forgotten.
He firmly declared, “Terrorists have no religion or region—they are open enemies of humanity.”
