Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan (JI) head Sirajul Haq Sunday congratulated the Taliban on takeover in Afghanistan, 24News HD TV channel reported.
Addressing a dinner in Lahore, he said the Taliban would constitute an 'exemplary Islamic government and maintain law and order in Afghanistan'.
The JI chief said the Taliban's peaceful takeover was against the expectations of the West. Siraj appreciated the Taliban for sending the governors and ministers home with respect and honour.
He said they had no fight with any person but with an economic system based on interest that was the main reason for poverty and oppression. The JI chief said there are more than 4.5 million orphans and 1.5 million disabled children in the country while more than 30 million children were deprived of education in Pakistan.
