College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan celebrates Independence Day

The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan celebrated the 76th Independence Day on Monday.

According to a press release, a flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the Regional Centre in Lahore of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan.  

Punjab Health Minister Prof. Dr Javed Akram graced the occasion as the chief guest. College of Physicians and Surgeons President Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, FJMU Enhancement Cell Quality Director Prof Bilquis Shabbir, Pro-Vice Chancellor of FJMU Prof Kamran Khalid Khawaja and other key figures showed up at the event.

The participants prayed for progress and prosperity. Prof Khalid Masood Gondal cut the cake to mark the birthday of Pakistan and the national anthem was also played on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Prof Khalid Masood Gondal reiterated the commitment to stand strong and work for the country's progress and prosperity. He laid stress on hard work to make Pakistan a state envisaged by the Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other Pakistan Moment figures

At the beginning of the ceremony, Prof. Khalid Ashrafi from Karachi, Prof. Masroor Ahmed and Prof. Arshad Wahid expressed their thoughts via video link. From Quetta, Vice-President of the CPSP, Prof. Ayesha Siddiqua extended her greetings on Independence Day and emphasized the need for remembering the sacrifices of the Pakistan Moment leaders and workers.

From Islamabad, Prof Muhammad Shoaib Shafi, Senior Vice President of CPSP expressed their views on the event.
