College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) marked Independence Day of the nation at the Regional Center Lahore. CPSP Senior Vice President Professor Khalid Masood Gondal performed the flag-hoisting ceremony. The special prayers were offered for national unity, security, and development.
College deans, heads of various medical institutions, including faculty members such as DG National Residency Program and VC King Edward Medical University Professor Mahmood Ayaz, Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Professor Syed Asghar Naqi, Professor Zahid Kamal Siddiqui and others attended the ceremony. CPSP Islamabad President Professor Shoaib Shafi, Punjab Govt’s Health Advisor General Azhar Kiyani also attended the ceremony.
Prof Khalid Masood Gondal cut a cake to mark country’s independence. Later talking to the participants, Prof Khalid Masood Gondal said Pakistan can only make progress through the hard work and unity. He also stressed the need for the unity of Ummah and prayed for Kashmiris and Palestinians.
Former Health Minister Dr Jamal Nasir praised the performance of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan and specifically lauded the role of Professor Muhammad Shoaib Shafi and Professor Khalid Masood Gondal in providing high-quality training and medical facilities to the ailing humanity at the districts level in Punjab.
