As summer vacations end, government and private schools across Punjab have reopened on Thursday, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported.

According to the details, after the long two-and-a-half-month break, educational activities have resumed, with students attending classes five days a week.

On the first day back, student attendance was lower than usual.

As per the new educational policy, teachers must be present six days a week in the schools.

Furthermore, in government schools, teachers' working hours have also been extended by an hour more than the students'.

According to the school timetable, students will be dismissed at 1:30 PM, while teachers will remain until 2:30 PM.

The decision to extend teachers' working hours has sparked significant criticism, with many educators voicing their concerns.

The Punjab Teachers' Union urged Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat to act as a "soldier of education" and reduce teachers' working hours.
