Top US commander in Afghanistan, special representative meet Gen Bajwa

Zalmay Khalilzad, US special representative for Afghanistan reconciliation, called on Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday to discuss progress on the Afghan peace process.
General Austin Miller, commander of NATO's Resolute Support Mission and United States Forces – Afghanistan, accompanied Khalilzad to the meeting.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), media wing of the Pakistan Army, matters of mutual interest and regional as well as security issues came under discussion at the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, General Bajwa praised the Resolute Support Mission for its role in the Afghan peace. He said that Pakistan would continue to play its role for peace in the region.
Khalilzad also praised Pakistan for its role in the Afghanistan peace process.
