Five close aides to ex-PM Imran Khan kept complaining to then army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa against the PTI chief, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to sources, former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed met Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and made a request for getting rid of Imran Khan.
They said Sheikh Rasheed told Qamar Javed Bajwa that Imran Khan could not run the government.
The insiders said Fawad Chaudhry and Shah Mehmood Qureshi also met Qamar Javed Bajwa and made a request for removing Usman Buzdar, however, the former army chief said that the posting of Punjab chief minister was a matter of PM's discretion.
Pervaiz Khattak and Asad Umar made many requests for meeting Qamar Javed Bajwa, the sources said, adding that the PTI leaders told ex-COAS that Imran Khan did not maintain merit and they were tired of making requests to their party chairman.
Imran Khan wanted Qamar Javed Bajwa to support his political agenda on accountability, however, Qamar Javed Bajwa never interfered in accountability affairs.
