Special Adviser to Prime Minister Malik Ahmad Khan said Thursday that ex-army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa gave only one NRO and that too to Imran Khan to save him from disqualification in the Bani Gala case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
While addressing a press conference in Kasur, the senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said that Imran Khan’s cipher story, that was based on a lie, had failed.
“Imran Khan has now resorted to a new propaganda after the cipher story has been exposed. The people within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are against the policies of Imran Khan,” he added.
“The government of Imran Khan was intact with the support of the allies. When the allies withdrew their support, Imran Khan called it a conspiracy,” he stated.
“How could he [Imran] call it a conspiracy? Imran Khan’s number of parliamentarians was not complete,” he pointed out.
“Imran Khan labelled others as traitors. In the meeting of National Security Committee (NSC), the head of an important institution said that no conspiracy had taken place,” he maintained.
“Shehbaz Sharif faced cases in courts. Is this NRO? Maryam Nawaz was locked up in jail in front of her father. Is this NRO? The prime minister’s son remained out of the country for four years. Is this NRO?” he questioned.
“Nawaz Sharif returned to the country, leaving his sick wife, and appeared before courts over 200 times in false cases. Is this NRO? Is getting relief in false cases NRO?” he added.
“What was the fault of Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Asif, Shahid Khaqan, Saad Rafique and other leaders of the PML-N? What was the fault of Asif Zardari and Faryal Talpur and other leaders of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)? Not only Shehbaz Sharif, but the allegations were levelled against the Pakistan-UK relations too in the Daily Mail case,” he deplored.
“The British NCA gave clean chit to Sharif family in the money laundering case. Our narrative is to go to the people and theirs is to spread lies and mischief,” he added.
“Whenever there is an election, we are ready. The economy and politics of the country need stability. Important meetings are going to be held with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). How will important decisions be made if a caretaker government is installed,” he averred.
“The general elections should be held on time. Who has stopped Imran Khan from dissolving KP and Punjab assemblies?” he questioned.
