Inspector General (IG) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon Thursday stated that getting the crime under control is their top priority as he condemned deaths of around 100 and injuries of more than 500 people in incidents of robberies, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
IG Sindh said that the Karachi police is investigating the murders and working for the control of street crime along with it. He said that the investigations are getting better and improving with the help of the plaintiffs and the eyewitnesses of the cases.
Ghulam Nabi Memon said that he is working to increase the funds of the investigation department and to make transparency and honesty a standard in the Department.
We are working with the investigating officers and legal experts on the 20-point agenda and also working for elimination of issues faced by investigating officers of street crime cases. The transfers of officers appointed in the investigation department have been stopped. All the officers and Policemen are being taught and trained by special courses, said Ghulam Nabi Memon.
He concluded saying that the culprits can be only brought to justice when the investigation department is in a better state.
