The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad Thursday sent Manzoor Pashteen, the leader of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), to judicial remand in two cases filed against him by the Tarnool police station, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Pashteen was produced before the ATC Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain after his seven-day physical remand ended today.
The prosecutor requested the court to extend the physical remand of Pashteen for another 14 days, claiming that he needed to recover his social media password and mobile phone from him.
However, the judge expressed displeasure over the slow progress of the investigation and said the police had wasted so many days for no reason.
He rejected the request for physical remand and sent Pashteen to judicial custody till December 28.
Pashteen is facing charges of sedition, criminal conspiracy, and inciting violence under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and the Anti-Terrorism Act.
