Five die as landslide buries car in Skardu

Five people died when their car was struck by a landslide near Rondo Malpura in Skardu on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The ill-fated car was travelling from Skardu to Shangus when it was buried under a large amount of falling debris on Jagut-Skardu Road.

Rescue sources further revealed that only vehicle’s frame and tyres were being spotted. Rando administration said that a rescue team was immediately dispatched to the scene to launch a search and rescue operation.

Earlier in October 2024, in a tragic landslide incident in the Mohri area of Sarai Saleh, Haripur, six homes were buried under debris, killing several livestock and causing extensive property damage.
