The Karachi administration has found a novel solution to the ever-increasing prices of fruit and vegetables.
In an effort to provide fruit and vegetables to Karachi residents at official rates, the city administration is going to launch an online fruit and vegetables delivery service in cooperation with three private companies. Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Ali Shallwani was given a briefing about the online fruit and vegetables delivery system on Friday. He was informed that this service would help the city administration supply people fruit and vegetables at official rates.
Deputy commissioners and representatives of the Bureau of Supply, Market Committee and online supply companies were also present at the meeting where execution of this plan was discussed. According to the plan, the Market Committee would provide these companies fruit and vegetables at auction rate.
It was decided at the meeting that the Karachi commissioner and deputy commissioners would coordinate with these companies for execution of the plan. The online fruit and vegetables delivery service will be launched in the Eastern District on February 21. The commissioner said the service would also be launched in the Southern District this month and other districts soon.
