Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday filed a petition in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against a video scandal showing members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly involved in horse-trading during Senate elections held in 2018.

A video, which had surfaced on February 9, had exposed some lawmakers who could be seen as counting bundles of currencies and hiding it inside their bags.

Following that video, the nation witnessed that 20 members of provincial assembly (MPAs) belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) changed their loyalties and voted for rival party’s candidates.

These lawmakers were then ousted from the political party by the central leadership after holding a thorough investigation.

Prime Minister and Chairman PTI, Imran Khan, Speaker National Assembly, Asad Qaiser and Defense Minister Pervaiz Khattak, Chairman PEMRA, DG FIA have been made respondents in the plea.

The PML-N, in its petition, has pleaded to the ECP to take action against the elements involved in the video scandal.
