Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif said on Tuesday that Prime Minister Imran Khan was not worried because of recent contacts between the opposition parties and the PTI government’s allies, but because of the mess the country was in due to his ‘bad governance’, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking to the media outside an accountability court in Lahore where he had gone in connection with the hearing of Ramzan Sugar Mills and Ashiana Housing Society references, Shehbaz Sharif said that this was the primary reason which gave sleepless nights to him.
He further said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government had borrowed record amounts in loans, but delivered nothing. “The government minted billions of rupees through wheat, sugar, LNG and other scandals,” Shehbaz alleged.
Speaking on the occasion, Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly (PA) and PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz said that the party was in contact with all opposition parties besides estranged PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen. “We have just one target. And that is to send the ‘selected’ PM Imran home. We are optimistic that one day, we will get rid of this man,” he added.
Responding to a journalist’s query about Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Moonis Elahi’s statement in which he had assured the prime minister of his and his party’s unequivocal support, Hamza clarified that the PML-N was in touch with only those parties which were in the opposition.
