Peshawar Zalmi, Lahore Qalandars fined for slow over-rate

As the things hot up in PSL8, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a fine on Peshawar Zalmi team for their slow over-rate during their match against Karachi Kings, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The PCB, in a statement, said “Peshawar Zalmi were ruled to be one over short of their target by match referee Ali Naqvi, who took into consideration time allowances before arriving at the decision.”

The Board further said that each player will be fined 10% of their match fees as per Article 2.22 of the PSL Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.

In Tuesday night's match, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Kings by two runs to start their PSL campaign in a thrilling style. Playing first, Peshawar posted a massive 199 runs before restricting the home side to 197-5 in 20 overs.

Similarly, the PCB also fined Lahore Qalandars for slow over-rate against Multan Sultans in the opening match of the PSL.

The PCB said that Lahore Qalandars fell one over short of the target.
