Four more independent candidates who won seats in the Punjab Assembly in the recent elections have joined the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the party announced Wednesday.
The new entrants are Sultan Bajwa from PP-132, Hanif Patafi from PP-288, Mahmood Qadir Khan from PP-289 and Taimur Lali from PP-94.
They met with the PML-N president and prime minister-designate Shehbaz Sharif at his residence in Lahore, where they expressed their full confidence in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif.
They also congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on being nominated as the prime minister by Nawaz Sharif and the allied parties.
The meeting was also attended by senior PML-N leaders Rana Tanveer, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Attaullah Tarar, Sardar Owais Khan Leghari, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Sardar Ahmad Khan Leghari and others.
Shehbaz Sharif thanked and welcomed the new members for joining the PML-N and said that he would serve the people under the guidance of Nawaz Sharif.
He said that only unity and cooperation could get Pakistan out of the difficulties it was facing.
He said that relieving the public from the scourge of inflation was his first challenge and that he would follow the vision of Nawaz Sharif to take Pakistan out of economic dangers.
