The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has strengthened its position as three more independent winning independent candidates from Khanewal joined the party on Wednesday.
Raza Hayat Haraj, who won the NA-144 seat, along with his brothers Akbar Hayat Haraj and Asghar Hayat Haraj, who secured the PP-205 and PP-212 seats respectively, met with PML-N President and Prime Minister nominee Shehbaz Sharif and announced their decision to join the party.
They expressed their full confidence in the leadership of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and pledged to work for the welfare of the people and the country.
Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the new entrants and thanked them for their support. He said that their cooperation would be important in solving the problems of the people and the country.
He said that the PML-N and its allies were forming the government on the agenda of saving Pakistan from economic threats and preventing further deterioration.
He said that the mandate of the nation was to work together for the betterment of Pakistan. He also congratulated them on their electoral victory and appreciated their public service.
The meeting was also attended by senior PML-N leaders Attaullah Tarar and Anusha Rehman.
