Sindh Election Commissioner Ejaz Anwar Chauhan has said that the Commission is processing the complaints being received during polling for local government elections in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to newsmen on Sunday, Ejaz Chauhan said the Commission will not tolerate any “negligence” during the elections. “We are conducting visits at different places to ascertain the situation,” he added.

He said so far the polling is going on peacefully.

Election Commission Secretary Umar Hameed said the fact that local government elections are taking place in Karachi is “enough” as they are being carried out keeping in view the “requirements” of the megacity.

The secretary declined to comment on the MQM-Pakistan’s decision to boycott the LG elections, saying the decision was their own. “The commission paid utmost priority to the reservations expressed by the MQM,” Umar Hameed added.
