All the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) filling stations in Peshawar will remain closed until January 19 due to overcome low gas pressure crisis, 24 NewsHD reported on Thursday.
The decision, announced by the Peshawar deputy commissioner, comes in response to a notification from the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), which emphasized prioritizing the supply of natural gas to domestic consumers during the ongoing cold wave.
The deputy commissioner’s statement highlighted the increasing demand for gas due to intense cold weather, which has exacerbated low pressure in the supply lines. This has been causing significant difficulties for households.
To address the issue and ensure adequate gas supply to domestic consumers, it is essential to close CNG filling stations temporarily, the DC office said.
The closure aims to mitigate the challenges faced by residents and ensure uninterrupted gas supply for heating and cooking amid harsh winter conditions.
