After criticising PTV for airing Turkish drama Dirilis Ertugrul, Yasir Hussain has now raised concerns over Esra Bilgic been made an ambassador of a Pakistani brand.

Hussain took to Instagram and asked why Bilgic has been made the ambassador of a Pakistani brand. Should not a Pakistani brand choose a local brand ambassador, he asked.

He said that everyone should support Pakistani actors. Hussain also explained why wife Iqra Aziz’s name wasn’t on the list.

“I didn’t take Iqra’s name because she is already a mobile brand ambassador,” the actor said.

The celebrity twins Minal and Aiman Khan also agreed with Hussain’s statement and took to their Instagram stories to acknowledge what he said.

However many celebrities came forward to support the Turkish actress Esra Bilgic and raised their concern on this matter. Anoushey Abbasi was one of them.

Taking to Instagram, She wrote: “I’d be very proud to see our actors on a billboard internationally. If you want to work in tandem with the world, you must accept them here as well. If Fawad and Mahira can work in India. I’m sure International artists can work here. Let’s not be petty and instead use all our energy in creating better content, bigger budgets and make our own stars huge.”

In another post, Anoushey has announced to invite Yasir Hussain and speak on the controversy going on social media.

Taking to Instagram, Anoushey wrote: “After all the controversy created by his status update I just decided to reach out to @yasir.hussain131 to interview him LIVE so he can talk about his issues regarding foreign artists working for Pakistani brands, animal rights and how he handles trolling.”

She further adds, “Please leave intelligent, relevant and conversational questions below. Let’s hear his opinion with an open mind. At the end of the day, we all want what’s BEST for Pakistan, please keep that thought in mind. Also, disrespecting your own artists reflects very badly on us as a whole. We may differ in opinion but our language is downright hurtful and regressive.”

She concluded saying: “Read some ridiculous comments on @divamagazinepakistan and decided to conduct this session. Lastly, let me remind you that I’m pro foreign content and artists working here because I genuinely believe there should be an exchange of art. It’s the only thing that brings people closer. But is it truly at the cost of our local talent? Tune into Instagram live on Thursday 9pm.”
