Smart lockdown imposed in three Peshawar areas

The KP government on Thursday imposed a smart lockdown in different areas of Peshawar in the wake of the rising number of coronavirus cases, reported 24News HD TV channel on Thursday. 

Exit and entry into the areas including Fazl Medical Road, Akhoonabad, Umar Farooq Road Mosque Regi Lalma, Awan Street Ijazabad will be closed during the lockdown.  

Only the shops of daily use commodities, medical stores and emergency services shops will remain open in the areas under the smart lockdown. 

The government has issued a notification in this regard. 

Only five people are allowed to offer congregational prayer in the mosques, the notification said. 

The magistrate and police have been given orders to implement the smart lockdown. 

Deputy Commissioner Captain (r) Khalid Mahmood said that the violators of the lockdown would be dealt with as per the law.
