The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday heard the petition against the summoning of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore Director General (DG) Major (retd) Shahzad Saleem in the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) meeting following the sexual harassment allegations by Tayyaba Gul, reported 24NewsHD channel.

The IHC summoned the attorney general at the request of NAB Lahore DG Shehzad Saleem and also issued a notice on the request of Shahzad Saleem for a stay order.

“Can the court issue a writ against the PAC?” the court questioned. “Is the petition against the PAC admissible or not?” it added.

“The PAC’s job is to audit the government funds. It cannot summon any person over harassment allegations,” said the lawyer for the NAB Lahore director general.

“Is the PAC part of the Parliament?” the court inquired further and summoned the attorney general on July 20 next for the hearing of a petition against the PAC.

On the occasion, the lawyer for the NAB Lahore director general sought suspension of the summoning orders of the PAC on July 18.
