The Sargodha Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) acquitted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub in two cases related to May 9 vandalism and riots on Monday. 

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Omar Ayub flanked by Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Ahmad Khan Bhachar and Barristor Babar Awan appeared in the Sargodha Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), where he was acquitted in two cases. 

The Sargodha court has postponed a hearing of his other case related to riots and vandalism in Mianwali on May 9 until August 12.

After the court hearing, talking to the media, Omar Ayub warned key government officials, including the Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Intelligence Bureau (IB), and others, to stay out of politics as the 'winds of change are blowing'.

He expressed solidarity with the people of Punjab and warned key government officials to stay out of politics, promising to hold them accountable in every forum.

Omar Ayub said that decisions regarding special seats will be made by the PTI founder. He said PTI assembly members are being threatened and intimidated. He described the cases against the PTI founder and his wife as disgraceful.

Omar Ayub criticised the Punjab Chief Minister, calling her the "TikTok Chief Minister," and claimed that the opposition leader's chamber has been sealed. He also mentioned that false cases are being filed against Sanam Javed.

Talking to the media, Punjab Opposition Leader Muhammad Ahmad Khan Bhachar announced a PTI rally in Lahore on August 14, criticising the lawlessness in Punjab and calling the government fascist. 

He questioned how a government that cannot face the opposition can face the public, and warned of action if any MPA or official of the PTI is harassed.

Babar Awan told the media that only one case remains against Omar Ayub and Ahmad Khan Bhachar. He mentioned that they have obtained copies of the charges and that the three witnesses, all from Shadman Police Station, are false. 

He described the Adalat case as a disgrace for the Pakistani government, noting that eleven judges acquitted the chained PTI. 

He called for the immediate transfer of the PTI founder's cases to regular courts and an end to jail trials. He also highlighted that 14 cases have been filed against female leader Sanam Javed, and criticised the Punjab police as a state entity.
