The government has increased the petroleum prices as the price of petrol has been increased by Rs2.13, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Tuesday.
The price of one linter petrol will go up to Rs110.69 per litre after this increase.
Similarly, the price of high speed diesel has been increased by Rs1.79 and one litre of high speed diesel will be available for Rs112.55.
The price of the light diesel has gone up by Rs2.03 as one litre of light diesel becomes Rs79.68.
The price of Kerosene oil has gone up by Rs1.89 and the price of one lire of Kerosene oil has been determined as Rs81.89per litre.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has proposed an increase of Rs4.20 per litre in petrol and Rs3.50 in diesel per litre.
The new and revised POL prices will be applicable from June 16.
After seeing a gradual decrease, this is the first increase in petroleum prices since January this year.
The government has increased the petroleum levy target from Rs450 billion to Rs610 billion in the Budget 2021-22.
Soon after the budget speech on Friday, the finance minister disclosed that they have to increase the prices of petroleum. The petroleum levy target has been increased by Rs160 billion.
The petroleum prices will keep increasing on an interval basis for the whole year.
