Karachi city has been put on high alert after a nationalist party called for a protest sit-in in the provincial capital, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The authorities have sealed all the entry and exit points of Karachi and heavy contingents of police have been deployed at Super Highway, National Highway and Hub River Road.
Karachi Police have also arranged water cannon, shell guns, sticks and rubber bullets from the headquarters to control any untoward incident. They also called in reinforcements and armoured personnel carriers (APCs).
Last week, protesters set ablaze the front gate and private property of a housing society in Karachi. After that Sindh Police carried out a crackdown and arrested many protesters who took law and order into their own hands.
This time, the city authorities have deployed large-scale law enforcement agencies to counter any wrong move.
