Persistent rain in different parts of northern and central Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) since last night has turned the weather pleasant and brought smiles on the faces of heat-stricken people, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
Rain in Lahore and its outskirts accompanied by strong winds turned the weather pleasant while weathermen predicted more rain during the next 24 hours.
Power supply to different localities of the Punjab capital was disrupted as several feeders tripped.
Following rain, the air quality index in the city dropped to 61, while the city stood at 10th position on the list of most polluted cities of the world.
Rain recorded in different areas of the city is as under:
153 millimeters of rain was recorded at Qurtaba Chowk, 121 millimeters at Chatta Park, 76 millimeters at CRPC office, 74 millimeters at Lahore American School, and 50 millimeters at the US consulate, Johar Town and Aitchison College each.
There were reports of heavy rain in Islamabad, Murree, Renala Khurd, Sarai Mugha, Kasur, Attock, Pasrur and Shakargarh.
