Pakistani singer, songwriter and rapper Hasan Raheem showed solidarity with the women in their fight for equal rights.
On Tuesday he announced that the song ‘Peechay Hut’ he sang in the Coke Studio which was a hit song was actually the anthem for ‘Aurat March’.
Hasan Raheem's tweet reads: “I started writing the song with “Rasta choriye ab ham agaye” for Justin bibi’s and now it’s become the voice of the women of Pakistan. The oppression has to end.”
Recently, in the Aurat March rally in Lahore, the women used the song with a twist as they changed their lyrics.
“Rasta choriae ab ham aa gaye/ Garbar ke bawajood March kar gaye/Mashra aur state khechain tangain, phir bhi chah gaye na.”
