If you are looking for an appetizing and easy menu for your Iftar party, here are some delicious ideas that you can prepare in no time. These dishes are simple, satisfying, and suitable for a crowd.
Potato Patties
Potato Patties are the famous crunchy snacks. You can find them in canteens at public places in Pakistan.
You will need:
1 tbsp oil
1 onion small sized
½ tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp crushed red chili
½ tsp chaat masala
⅛ tsp turmeric (haldi powder)
½ tsp coriander seeds
¼ tsp crushed black pepper
salt to taste
½ tsp dried mint leaves (sokhay podinay k patay)
1 green chili (finely chopped) bareek katy hoi
2 potatoes (boiled and meshed into paste form)
lemon juice as needed
fresh coriander leaves
How to make:
Fry the sliced onion until translucent.
Add cumin seeds, crushed red chili, chaat masala, turmeric (haldi powder), coriander seeds, crushed black pepper and salt. Also add dried mint leaves and finely chopped green chili. Stir for a while.
Meanwhile, boil 2 potatoes and crushed them into paste form. Stir to mix the paste with the seasoning. Then add finely chopped fresh coriander leaves. Stir to mix well and turn off the flame.
Prepare dough and roll it down on a flat surface into large square bread.
Cut the bread into 3 rectangular patties and then further divide them into smaller square shapes to be used as Potato patties.
Arrange the potato filling on each patty, apply beaten egg on lose ends and fold them into triangle shape. Using fork press and glue the loose ends together.
Apply oil using a cooking brush. Bake in preheated oven at 150°c for 30 to 40 minutes.
Serve with your favorite sauce or chatney.

Crispy Chicken Cheese Toast:
Things you need:
Sauce ingredients
Mayonnaise 1/2 cup
Tomato ketchup 2 tbsp
Bbq sauce 1 tbsp

Bread slices as required
Butter as required

Mozzarella cheese
How to make:
In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, tomato ketchup, and BBQ sauce until well combined.
Spread some prepared sauce on one side of each slice.
Place a cheese slice on top of the sauce spread side of each bread slice. Cut the cheese slice to fit the bread if needed.
Arrange the chicken cheese fingers on top of the cheese slice, leaving some space between them. You can also spoon some sauce over the chicken cheese fingers.
Sprinkle some mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce. Wrap up the slice slightly into a triangular shape tying up the diagonal corners with a skewer.
Place the bread slices on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 10 to 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Stuff Chicken Bread:
Things you need:
4 cup Fine flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp instant yeast
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp oil
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
warm water as required to knead soft dough
Ingredients used to marinate the chicken
600 g boneless chicken
1 tbsp crushed garlic
1 tsp crushed green chilies
1 tbsp tandoori or tikka masala
1 – 2 pinches of salt if needed
1 tsp lemon juice
2/3 cup yogurt
2 – 3 tbsp oil for cooking the marinated chicken
1/2 tsp black pepper (optional)
Assembling
2 raw bread layers
chili garlic sauce of pizza sauce
cooked chicken
onion slices
tomato slices (seeds removed)
mozzarella and cheddar cheese as required
dried oregano leaves
beaten egg
sesame seeds
butter (to be applied on the top of bread after baking)
How to make:
Dough
In a mixing bowl, add flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast. Whisk to mix the dry ingredients well. Now add butter, oil, an egg, and milk. Then add warm water as required and knead soft dough.
Apply a little bit of oil and keep aside for 2 hours.
Chicken Stuffing
In a mixing bowl, add chicken, crushed garlic, crushed green chilies, and all the seasonings. Add lemon juice and yogurt. Mix everything well and marinate for 30 minutes.
In a frying pan, heat cooking oil, add marinated chicken, and cook on high flame for 1 – 2 minutes. With the lid on, cook on low flame until chicken becomes tender.
Remove the lid, optionally add black pepper and mix well before turning off the flame.
Assembling
Punch the dough down and roll out the dough into two round shape slices of bread with the help of a rolling pin. Arrange the base layer of the bread on a tray and spread chili garlic sauce or pizza sauce all over it.
Add a layer of cooked chicken, diced slices of onion, and tomato. Add in mozzarella and cheddar cheese slices as required. Lastly, sprinkle some oregano leaves and cover everything up with the top bread layer. With the help of a bowl and your fingers, mark the serving size. Apply beaten egg and put sesame seeds on the top of the stuffed bread.
Bake in preheated oven at 170 degrees centigrade for 40 to 45 minutes.
When ready, apply butter on the top and serve hot.
