Interior Minister has said that PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif’s name has not been placed in the Exit Control List yet, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In an important video statement on Saturday, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif’s name had not been included in the ECL because the ministry still had not received back the summary it had forwarded to the Cabinet Division for approval.
Sheikh Rashid said the media was abuzz with the news of Shehbaz’s name in the ECL but the fact was, his name still had not been put on the Exit Control List. He said his ministry was yet to receive the summary of recommendation which was expected to land in his ministry on coming Monday or Tuesday.

He said in this case the names of 14 people were on the ECL, adding that five of the family people were already absconding.
Sh Rashid said that Shehbaz himself was the guarantor of PML-N supremo and his elder brother Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan. He said Shehbaz was not going straight to London as he was supposed to isolate in Qatar for 15 days then he was booked to fly to London.
He said Shehbaz didn’t submit his medical report to the authorities. He stated that interior and law ministries would decide upon the summary of his case. He said the decision would be according to the Constitution and rule of law.

Regarding the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to curb the spread of coronavirus pandemic during Eid holidays, Sheikh Rashid praised the services of Pakistan Army and local authorities.
He said that people followed the Covid norms and guidelines which resulted in the falling of infectivity rate across the country. He emphasized caution saying the Indian mutant had reached the United Kingdom.
