While hearing the plea of the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh President Ali Zaidi over his disappearance after arrest, the Sindh High Court (SHC) issued notices to the Home Department, Sindh inspector general of police (IGP) and others made respondents in the petition and sought a reply from them within two weeks, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“Ali Zaidi was illegally detained on May 9 last,” Yasmin Zaidi stated in her petition.
“The Constitution gives every citizen of Pakistan the right to peaceful protest,” she added.
“The provincial government and the police should be ordered to release Ali Zaidi,” she pleaded.
The Sindh Home Department, IGP and others had been made respondents in the petition.
