Islamabad High Court's three-member bench while hearing a contempt of court case for leaking confidential information of Justice Babar Sattar and his family, has sought replies within a week from intelligence agencies, FBR, PEMRA and PTA, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri and Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq issued a three pages order after hearing the contempt of court case for leaking confidential information of Justice Babar Sattar and his family.
Justice Kiyani told the state council that the court was starting contempt proceedings. Justice Kiyani said the bench would issue notice to the Defence Secretary.
The court ordered the concerned department to investigate the pre-tag and the accounts which started the campaign. The court also directed the PTA to give the details of at least five accounts that tweeted and retweeted the posts initially.
The bench asked the concerned department to submit the details of Twitter handles, account names, tweets, texts, replies and retweets. The bench sought the details of the first five accounts that raised questions about the dual nationality of Justice Baber Sattar.
The court also directed PEMRA to give details of the TV channels that telecasted the news on first, second and third numbers during their headlines. The court questioned DG Immigration and FIA to reply how a third party can get the confidential details of a judge’s family.
The court also grilled FBR on how a third party obtained the details of the assets. The IHC bench directed all the concerned departments to submit details within a week.
Justice Kiyani warned that if anyone tried to approach judges, the contempt of court proceedings would be started from low to high offices. He said to pressurize judges, a malicious campaign was started against them.
During the hearing Justice Kiyani remarked that either state institute leaked the data otherwise accounts were hacked. He said the court will shed light on the role and performance of agencies and PTA as well. Justice Kiyani during the hearing remarked that it became clear that a systematic campaign was launched against Justice Babar Sattar on social media.
The order said Justice Babar Sattar wrote a letter to the IHC chief Justice against the malicious campaign on social media. The court order said the contempt proceedings were being initiated in the context of Justice Babar Sattar's April 27 letter.
