Journalist shot dead in Muzaffargarh

A local journalist was shot dead by motorcycle-mounted gunmen near Thermal Bypass in Muzaffargarh on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The police said journalist Ashfaq Ahmad Siyal was targeted by gunmen near Thermal Bypass as they first stopped him and then sprayed bullets on him.

Ashfaq Siyal was rushed to DHQ Hospital with serious bullet wounds where he succumbed to his injuries. His body was shifted to mortuary for post-mortem.

Ashfaq Siyal was linked to national Khabrain newspaper.

The police said they have launched an investigation into the incident and hunt for the gunmen was also under way.
