Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry Monday said the Prime Minister Imran Khan had removed all reservations of the allied parties and they had shown their confidence in him for supporting government bills in the joint session of the parliament being held on Wednesday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Fawad Chaudhry while talking to media on Monday said all the leadership including GDA, MQM, PML-Q, BAP called on the PM who heard their reservations in detail and removed them.
In the meeting with the PM, the allies had expressed their full confidence in the leadership of the PM and PTI and it had also been decided that a joint sitting of the parliament would be convened on Wednesday, November 17, at 2 pm.
In the joint session of the parliament, the electoral reforms bill would be presented and all coalition parties would stand with the Imran led government.
About the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Appointment of Chief Election Commissioner and members, Fawad said it was held in a very good atmosphere and two or three names have been dropped.
Fawad said the next meeting of the committee would be held next Wednesday and hopefully a consensus between the government and the opposition would be developed.
Commenting on the Justice ® Rana Shamim’s affidavit, Fawad said it was another attempt of the PML-N to make the courts and the corruption cases of the Sharifs controversial.
He said attacking the judiciary, making accusations against judges, and videos had been the history of the PML-N.
He appealed to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice for fixing the contempt of court against the PML-N Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Khawaja Asif for holding a press conference after the Suo Motu notice.
He said such a press conference was a try to pressurize the courts in the case. He also urged the media to have an editorial check on sensitive stories like Justice Shamim’s affidavit.
