Govt increases prices of CNG, steel bar, notification issued

The compressed natural gas (CNG) prices were expected to rise as the government had increased sales tax on it.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the government had increased in sales tax on CNG by Rs60.53 per kilogram for Region-II and Rs58.34 per kg for Region-I.

The price of sales tax on CNG for Region-II has been fixed at Rs134.57 per kg and for Region-I Rs128.11 per kg.

Earlier, the price of sales tax on CNG for Region-II was Rs74.04 per kg and for Region-I Rs69.57 per kg.

Region-I includes KPK, Balochistan, Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Gujarat while Region-II includes Punjab, except Sindh and Potohar Swap Punjab of Sindh and Potohar areas.

Meanwhile, the Federal Board of Revenue issue a notification of increasing prices of the steel bar by Rs13,000 per metric ton.

The new price of the steel bar has been fixed at Rs153,000 per metric ton.
