Islamabad’s District and Sessions Court issued an arrest warrant on Friday for Ali Amin Gandapur, Chief Minister (CM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), in a case involving alleged possession of alcohol and firearms.
According to a report by 24NewsHD TV channel, Senior Civil Judge Mubashir Hassan Chishti heard the case and took serious notice of CM Gandapur’s continued non-appearance in the court.
CM Gandapur’s lawyer, Raja Zahoor ul Hasan Advocate, appeared on his behalf, informing the court that the Peshawar High Court (PHC) had granted an extension on Gandapur’s protective bail.
However, Judge Chishti responded by stating that unless the court receives an official stay order from Peshawar High Court, the arrest warrant would remain valid.
Gandapur’s lawyer assured the court that he would obtain and present the required documentation promptly, although the order had not yet been submitted by the time of this report.
