The M-2 Motorway between Lahore and Islamabad has reopened for all traffic after a reduction in fog, while heavy smog forced the closure of Lahore Airport for flight operations, as reported by 24NewsHD TV on Friday morning.

According to the Motorway Police, the temporary motorway closures are intended to prevent accidents and ensure travellers' safety.

The public is advised to avoid non-essential travel, complete journeys in daylight, use fog lights, maintain reduced speed, and keep extra distance from other vehicles.

The motorway spokesperson said travellers can check real-time updates on the Motorway Police helpline 130 or via their social media channels.

Meanwhile, flight operations at Lahore Airport have been suspended due to heavy smog, and incoming flights from international destinations are being diverted to Islamabad Airport.

Flights from Jeddah and Karachi bound for Lahore were rerouted to Islamabad, and several outgoing flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh from Lahore are delayed.
