Lahore retains title of World Smog Capital

Smog became a life-threatening disease for the city dwellers as among the most polluted countries in the world, the city of Lahore on Friday as well ranked first with an air quality index of 732, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

However, Lahore is second in terms of pollution in Pakistan and due to the cloud of toxic smoke and fog, visibility has decreased and daily life of citizens has been affected.

The air quality index rate in different areas of Lahore city exceeded 1600.

Air quality index was 1587 at CERP office while 1404 was on Syed Maratab Ali Road, US Consulate 812, Johor Town 732 and at Ghazi Road Interchange was recorded 645.

The current temperature of the city is 17 degree Celsius recorded while the maximum temperature is likely to be 25 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 15 degrees Celsius.

The humidity ratio in the air is recorded 92 percent.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility that the eye twitched game between the sun and the clouds will continue.

The Meteorological Department has not indicated any chance of rain.
