At least 14 tourists who got stuck in Deosai due to heavy snow have been rescued by the Pakistan Army. They were taken to a safe location after they were seen taking refuge in an area known as “shoo wai”.
According to a spokesperson for the Gilgit-Baltistan government, a rescue operation was launched with the help of the armed forces of Pakistan and now rescue teams which came from Baltistan have returned from the scene of the incident.
Some people were going to Skardu from Gultari when they got stuck in heavy snow and their contact was lost. Families of the people stuck in snow had appealed to the Pakistan Army for help.
Two helicopters of the Pakistan Army were taking part in the rescue operation. Some local teams also took part in the rescue operation.
The GB government spokesperson said that the rescued people will return home soon.
