Court releases PTI ex-MNA Rubina Jamil in Jinnah House attack case

The first important female political leader arrested on the charge of launching an attack on the Jinnah House has got post-arrest bail by a local court in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The anti-terrorism court issued the written order for the release of former PTI MNA Rubina Jamil.

Anti-terrorism court Judge Ijaz Buttar released the written order.

Ex-MNA Rubina Jamil is the first woman who has got bail in the central FIR registered under section 96/23.

On September 10, the ATC granted a seven-day physical remand of seven women of the PTI including former MNA Rubina Jamil in the Corps Commander House attack case.

Many Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leaders and workers were booked and taken into custody over protests following the arrest of party Chief Imran Khan in a graft case from the premises of the Islamabad High Court on May 9.

During the demonstrations, several military and civilian installations, including Jinnah House in Lahore where the city’s corps commander resides, were vandalised.

Former PTI MNA Rubina Jamil was booked in a case of setting police vehicles on fire near Rahat Bakery in the Cantt area, during the May 9 riots.
