The Punjab government Friday decided to transfer the administrative authorities of eight municipal corporations from the commissioners to the deputy commissioners, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

It was stated that the transfer of powers was decided due to the engagements and the hectic workload on the commissioners.

The decision will be presented to the cabinet for approval soon and will be implemented in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sargodha and Faisalabad districts.

The authorities were given to the commissioners in October last.
