Five Afghan colliers die as toxic gas fills Harnai coalmine

Five Afghan labourers have died due to toxic gas filling a coalmine in Harnai area of Balochistan on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


According to rescue officials, a total of six minders were trapped in the coalmine after the toxic gas filled it.


One of the six colliers was rescued alive while bodies of three labourers were retrieved from the mine first.


However, rescue operation was continued for recovering the bodies of two other labourers.


The tragedy occurred in the coalmine owned by Malik Coal Company of contractor Haji Shah Muhammad, localed in Tehsil Shahrag of Harnai District.


According to Levies Force, all the miners belonged to Afghanistan.
