Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo and Pakistan Democratic Movement president Maulana Fazlur Rehman held a telephonic conversation Friday.
Nawaz Sharif inquired after Fazl and both the leaders also discussed the political situation in the country.
Nawaz and Fazl also pondered over the future strategy of the Pakistan Democratic Movement, which has become dysfunctional since the emergence of differences among the alliance parties over Senate elections.
Pakistan People’s Party and Awami National Party have separated their ways from the PDM after the PDM served show-cause notices on both the parties for going against the opposition alliance decision on the opposition leader in the Senate.
Sources say former prime minister Nawaz has given his full backing to Fazl to sort out the issues with both PPP and ANP.
Fazl has already asked both parties to reconsider their decision of leaving the PDM.
